Other niche applications include cutting specialized crystalline materials, optical-grade substrates, or ceramics, but the PV segment accounts for more than 98% of total consumption. Future growth will be driven by continued expansion in solar wafer production, particularly for high-efficiency mono-Si cells and advanced heterojunction or PERC technologies.
Upstream: Diamond grit suppliers (synthetic and natural), plating chemicals, and high-strength wire or tungsten-core substrates. China dominates global supply, particularly tungsten-core wires and substrates, which account for over 90% of production. Key upstream players include Xiamen Tungsten and other Chinese manufacturers.

Midstream: Diamond wire producers apply diamond grit to the wire, control grit distribution, wire diameter and plating thickness, and integrate process parameters to optimize cutting performance. This segment also coordinates closely with saw machine OEMs.
