Summary

The global Auxiliary Batteries market is projected to grow from US$ 18390 million in 2025 to US$ 28019 million by 2032, at a CAGR of 6.2% (2026-2032), driven by critical product segments and diverse end‑use applications, while evolving U.S. tariff policies introduce trade‑cost volatility and supply‑chain uncertainty.
In 2025, global auxiliary battery output reached approximately 460 million units, with total capacity around 700 million units, an average unit price of about USD 40, and manufacturer gross margins near 17%. Auxiliary batteries are secondary energy storage units used alongside a system's primary power source to support low-voltage loads, backup functions, start-stop operations, safety systems, and electronic accessories. In electric vehicles, they typically power control units, infotainment, lighting, and fail-safe functions independent of the high-voltage traction battery; in industrial equipment, telecom systems, data centers, and renewable installations, they provide backup power, stabilization, and control energy. The supply chain begins upstream with raw materials such as lead, lithium, nickel, graphite, separators, electrolytes, battery management ICs, and casing materials supplied by mining companies and chemical manufacturers; midstream includes cell manufacturers (producing lead-acid, AGM, lithium-ion, LiFePO₄, or emerging solid-state auxiliary cells), pack integrators that add battery management systems (BMS), thermal protection, and enclosures; downstream consists of OEM integration into vehicles, industrial machinery, UPS systems, telecom infrastructure, marine and aerospace platforms, followed by distribution through aftermarket channels, maintenance service providers, and recycling firms that recover lead, lithium, and other metals to close the circular supply loop.
From a downstream perspective, Automotive accounted for % of 2025 revenue, surging to US$ million by 2032 (CAGR: % from 2026–2032).
Auxiliary Batteries leading manufacturers (including Clarios, GS Yuasa, East Penn Manufacturing, Exide Technologies, EnerSys, CATL, BYD, LG Energy, Samsung SDI, Panasonic Energy, etc.), dominate supply; the top five capture approximately % of global revenue, with Clarios leading 2025 sales at US$ million.
Regional Outlook:
North America rose from US$ million in 2025 to a forecast US$ million by 2032 (CAGR %).
Asia‑Pacific will expand from US$ million to US$ million (CAGR %), led by China (US$ million in 2025, % share rising to % by 2032), Japan (CAGR %), South Korea (CAGR %), and Southeast Asia (CAGR %).
Europe is set to grow from US$ million to US$ million (CAGR %), with Germany projected to hit US$ million by 2032 (CAGR %).
