Report Summary
"Larger players should explore ways in which they could participate in common wholesale platform provision."
FTTP infrastructure provision is too fragmented to be attractive to buyers of wholesale services (wholebuyers), even though many fibrecos will often need non-retail channels to meet their conversion targets. This report gives an overview of the various nascent approaches to solving this problem, from the collaborative wholesale platform to more transactional approaches to matching supply and demand. All involve matching multiple infrastructure inputs with multiple retail service providers. The report indicates ways in which these approaches might evolve and shape the broadband market in the future.
