Despite GRAP-related slowdowns in 2025, construction normalized from March 2026 and is forecast to grow at a 9.1% CAGR to reach ~INR1.4 trillion by 2035, supported by the Delhi Industrial Policy (2025-2035) and infrastructure-led growth corridors.
- Delhi is a premier tourism and business-events destination and a key international gateway to India. Tourist arrivals rose to 48.3 million in 2024 (46.3 million domestic; 2.0 million foreign), and Delhi led foreign tourist arrivals by ports with a 38.9% share-anchored by marquee monuments, retail, cuisine, and convention travel, though some lesser-known heritage sites lag due to weaker access and amenities.
- Delhi Tourism/DTTDC continues to market and manage tourism, with new momentum from Tourism Plan 2025 (Yamuna cruise, Chhath Ghat promenade, integrated heritage circuit) and a nearly tripled 2026-27 tourism budget (INR4.1 billion) to improve visitor infrastructure. Major connectivity projects-including DMRC’s metro expansion through 2031 and the planned Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail (2030-35)-are expected to further strengthen visitor movement and urban accessibility.
