Country Wise Outlook for the Gaming GPU Market

Gaming GPU markets are heavily disrupted by product cycle shortening, increased control of semiconductors, and regional manufacturing. In 2025, both Nvidia and AMD released refreshed consumer products, and governments continued subsidizing domestic chip capacity. Across 2027, supply-side changes will dominate, according to Lucintel.

• United States: In January 2025, Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 5090 for $1,999 and the RTX 5080 for $999. They experienced faster performance and replacement demand across the professional and enthusiast segments of gaming. In March 2025, AMD introduced the Radeon RX 9070 series.
• China: In January 2025, Nvidia introduced the GeForce RTX 5090D for China with a reported price of 16,499 yuan, while the renewal of US licensing in 2025 constrained the rest of Nvidia’s China product offerings. Over the next 3-5 years, the combination of these factors will benefit the Chinese domestic gaming production of GPU platforms.
• Germany: ESMC, backed by TSMC, Bosch, Infineon, and NXP, as a joint venture, has the €10 billion semiconductor project planned for Dresden with production slated for 2027. This will increase Europe’s local wafer supply and improve long term supply of GPU and advanced computing components for automotive.
• India: With a planned opening in 2026, Micron’s semiconductor assembly and test facility, along with an estimated $2.75 billion investment, will begin operations in Gujarat. Tata Electronics will also build the first major semiconductor fabrication facility in India. These investments help develop domestic packaging and component infrastructure to assist in future GPU shipments and electronic manufacturing.
• Japan: Rapidus started a 2-nm pilot line in Hokkaido in April 2025, with mass production scheduled for 2027, backed by significant Japanese government funding. This achievement may give Japan a significant interest in advanced logic and chip integration, helping to define Japan’s role in the high-performance GPU supply chain in the future.
