IPTV subscriptions will reach 48.2m at year-end 2010, a 40% increase over 2009 levels. By 2015, we are projecting that there will be 138.1m IPTV subscriptions, representing a 23% CAGR over 2010 levels. Latin America and Africa Middle East will exhibit the fastest IPTV subscription growth rates over the next five years. Asia will see its contribution increase from 39% of total IPTV subscriptions in 2010 to 55% by 2015. China Telecom overtook Free in 2010 to become the world’s largest IPTV operator. As a result of China Telecom and China Unicom’s projected growth, China will overtake France to become the largest IPTV market (from a subscription perspective) in 2011. Given higher ARPS levels in the US and Europe, 66% of total IPTV service revenue will come from these two regions in 2015. Despite its 55% share of subscriptions, Asia will account for only 28% of revenue.
