After all, telecommunications can be described as a mass production model applied to the issue and delivery of digital goods. The need to customize services – due to local regulations or customs – can be seen as a threat to profitability.
Yet as Informa Telecoms & Media’s nine operator healthcare case studies reveal, ways do exist to overcome such concerns. One approach is to facilitate mass adoption of a healthcare service, another is to focus on certain actors in the complex and fragmented healthcare ecosystem. But it can’t yet be said that operators have all the answers, or concrete results from their growing activities in healthcare.
Nevertheless, as discussed in this report, even operator healthcare services with a simple scope have the potential to deliver a great social impact.
