The report is extremely complex. There are 167 mobile operators covered specifically and an additional 20 “rest of” markets also covered. In other words, LTE RAN spending by mobile operator, and by cellular infrastructure vendor, is estimated.

LTE is happening and is growing. However, the timing of mobile operators entering the LTE market is varied.

This report details the LTE RAN infrastructure CAPEX for macro base stations, re-purposed base stations, IP Packet Backhaul and Evolved Packet Core categories. The CAPEX considers LTE deployments from 2009 through 2015. Not only does the report cover the anticipated LTE deployment plans of mobile operators, it also reports or forecasts which cellular infrastructure vendors have won, or are likely to win LTE business.

The report is extremely complex. There are 167 mobile operators covered specifically and an additional 20 “rest of” markets also covered. In other words, LTE RAN spending by mobile operator, and by cellular infrastructure vendor, is estimated.

Key findings include:

  • Ericsson is the clear market leader through 2014. However, in 2015, four cellular infrastructure vendors will realize $2 billion or more in revenues from LTE equipment sales.
  • In 2015, as Asia Pacific countries deploy LTE in earnest, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia Siemens, and Alcatel-Lucent all have a chance at being the global leader in LTE RAN revenues.
  • In the years 2011-2015, LTE RAN revenues will grow at a CAGR 41%.

Revenue estimates are made for Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Samsung, NEC, Cisco, Juniper, and Tellabs.
