家庭のエネルギー管理システム:電力会社、ブロードバンドとセキュリティサービスプロバイダのビジネスチャンスHome Energy Management Systems
サマリー
The market for home energy management systems (HEMS) is still in the early stages of development. However, investments, product development and new product shipments progressed rapidly in 2010 compared to prior years. ABI Research expects the pace of development and the influx of new vendors seeking to capitalize on this still "green field" market opportunity to continue expanding even more quickly in 2011 and beyond. These vendors range from semiconductor manufacturers to utility-centric suppliers targeting a key aspect of the smart grid (HAN/DR), to home automation vendors seeking to integrate energy management into both standalone systems and those oriented toward deployment by broadband service providers. Also included are "pure-play" HEMS vendors, networking equipment providers, and enterprise software vendors. The HEMS market has tremendous potential as a segment of the overall smart grid market, and increased consumer interest in managing energy consumption is driving demand. The two factors spurring user interest are convenience and cost. Consumers are increasingly embracing the notion of linking and managing their various home systems such as entertainment, security, lighting and thermostats via a fast, efficient mechanism that saves them time and ultimately money. However the HEMS market does face a number of challenges from a technology and marketing perspective. What Questions Does This Report Answer?
