The adoption of global standards is a major driver for the adoption of telematics solutions as well as a critical success factor for the future of the consumer and commercial telematics industries. It reduces fragmentation, creating a dynamic and open telematics ecosystem, while at the same time lowering development costs. The main government-initiated telematics standard is the EU’s pan-European eCall emergency calling initiative.
